From 8 to 11 September, Kipsala International Exhibition Centre presents the 15th annual international trade fair Riga Food 2010 that is a high-level food industry trade fair and an important meeting place for food industry enterprises and policy makers, chefs, bartenders and food industry related companies.
Participants from Baltics and other countries
Riga Food 2010 for the time being has received applications for participation of the food industry and related companies from more than 40 countries, as well as has reached an agreement for national collective stands of 17 countries—Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, India, Nepal, Denmark, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, the Czech Republic, France, Germany (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Moldova—to be represented at the fair. Cyprus and Bangladesh are two countries representing their food industry companies at Riga Food for the first time. The food industry trade fair also looks forward to an extensive representation of advanced food technologies, scientific accomplishments, food technologies and organic food.

New trend—culinary tourism

Extensive events programme
The forthcoming Riga Food will also offer numerous chefs, pastry cooks, bartenders and table laying competitions to find best of the best Latvian chef, the most expert pastry cook in the Baltics; the participants of “Riga Open Culinary Cup”, an international competition, will compete for a hefty prize cheque worth of 1000 Euros.
The premium quality food competition is going to take place for the 14th consecutive year to find out the best bread in three categories, cheese, sour cream and honey in one competition category.
Seminars for professionals
For food industry professionals and enterprises, Riga Food 2010 presents seminars on food technologies held by the Latvia University of Agriculture in conjoint with EEN-Latvija, Marketing Council, and the Institute for Innovative Biomedical Technologies in collaboration with Elpa, the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Europe Direct, Nordic Sugar and many others.
