From 28 August to 7 September, the third annual Gastronomy Festival, an opening fringe event of Riga Food 2014, invites all foodies to enjoy unconventional menus, special offers and great discounts across Latvia.

Restaurants, cafes, bars, tearooms, wine bars, patisseries, pizzerias, gourmet restaurants and other culinary tourism destinations invite all foodies to set off on a gastro journey through Latvia. The festival participants will daily offer something special to enjoy – unconventional menus, special offers, chef’s complimentary appetizers and great discounts. Participants will demonstrate their unique offers at their premises – the best place to feel the cosiness and hospitality and evaluate the talent of a chef, pastry chef or bartender.

Great, diverse and complimenting taste buds menus will cover the whole country as a huge network bringing to light culinary treasures and unveiling new food destinations!

Gastronomy Festival aims to promote eating-out as part of lifestyle and culture breaking a conception that dining at restaurant, café or bar is very heavy on the pocket and offering an infinite palette of gastronomic pleasures.

Last year, the festival introduced 77 wonderful culinary destinations in Riga, Jurmala, Liepaja, Salaspils, Ergli, Sigulda, Talsi, Rezekne, Ventspils, Valmiera, Adazi, Engure, Smiltene, Marupe, Birini, Madona, Ogre and other Latvian towns and cities. Read more:
