Hotel chains Holiday Inn and Inn Express have undertaken a massive project, which involves modernizing their brands and changing their image, and refurbishing all hotels.
Holiday Inn’s well known logo (which is about 50 years old) has already been changed to represent a more contemporary look. Moreover, all hotels will be upgraded, the rooms and public areas will be refurbished and services will be refined. The project is due to finish by the end of 2010, according to Travel.ru. More than 3000 hotels all over the world will have a totally new image. The service in the hotels will become more customized and personalized, as well as more effective. For instance, travelers ill have the opportunity to pick a desired type of pillow, and all bathrooms will have new showerheads. The main idea behind this undertaking is to change the image Holiday Inn has been portraying over the years. Instead of catering mainly to families ,Holiday Inn will now focus on attracting several segments. The news about the massive re-design project was announced in 2007 for the first time, the total investment is estimated at about $1 billion.
