These places are dedicated to lovers of all things sweet and sugary. They include restaurants than only serve desserts and cafes where sweets are treated like dishes in themselves.
The trend started in New York at Magnolia Bakery, and we are now seeing the emergence of pudding palaces in trend-leading cities across the globe. The high-concept Candy Restaurant in Tokyo aims to formalize the act of eating candy and raise it to the level of high cuisine. Another Tokyo pudding palace space is 100% Chocolate Café by Salon du Chocolat. Designed by Wonderwall, the café offers an array of chocolatey delights. The space is designed like a chocolate kitchen. Cocoa-coloured wood tables and chairs are complemented by ceiling panels which resemble a chocolate bar.
